Lawyer in Estonia – Erovik Law Office in Tallinn

Need a lawyer in Estonia who works in English and tells you plainly where you stand? Erovik Law Office is an independent law office in Tallinn. We help private individuals and companies with disputes and legal questions under Estonian law, in Estonian and English.

Who we are

The office was founded in Tallinn in 2019. Ero Liivik, the office’s lawyer (jurist), graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu and regularly takes further training in dispute resolution and civil law.

Our working languages are Estonian and English, so if you need an English-speaking lawyer in Tallinn, you can discuss your matter with us in English.

We advise only on Estonian law. In a cross-border matter, we deal with the part that concerns Estonia – for example an Estonian debtor, an employment contract governed by Estonian law or property located in Estonia.

Who we help

Our legal services in Estonia are for private individuals and companies anywhere in Estonia, and for people and businesses abroad whose matter concerns Estonia, such as:

  • Foreign companies with Estonian customers, partners or debtors – unpaid invoices, contract disputes and damage claims.
  • Employers and employees – including foreign employers with staff in Estonia and foreign employees working here – on contracts, pay, warnings and termination.
  • E-residents and foreign founders with an Estonian company (OÜ) – disputes with customers or partners, unpaid debts, and liquidation or bankruptcy.
  • Foreign spouses, parents and heirs – divorce, child maintenance and custody, division of property between spouses, and estates in Estonia.
  • Foreigners who own or buy property in Estonia – hidden defects, construction and renovation defects, co-ownership, and checking a purchase agreement before you sign.

Practice areas

Debt claims and payment obligations

Unpaid invoices and other payment obligations: demand letters, settlement talks, the Estonian payment order procedure (maksekäsu kiirmenetlus) and court claims. We also help if you have received a claim that you believe is unjustified. See debt collection in Estonia.

Contract disputes and court cases

Disputes over services, construction and subcontracting, and cooperation contracts between small and medium-sized businesses, including claims for damages. We assess the case, draft the statement of claim or the defence, and handle settlement talks and court proceedings. See court disputes in Estonia.

Employment law

We advise both employers and employees on employment contracts, pay, warnings and termination, and give ongoing preventive advice to companies with many employees. A labour dispute in Estonia can usually be taken either to the Labour Dispute Committee (töövaidluskomisjon) or to a court. See employment law in Estonia.

Real estate disputes and transactions

Hidden defects, construction and renovation defects, breach of sale contracts, co-ownership, possession and rights of use. We can also review a purchase or sale agreement before you sign it. Real estate litigation is the area where the office has particularly strong and consistent experience. See real estate disputes in Estonia.

Family law and inheritance

Divorce, child maintenance and custody, and division of property between spouses; estates, heirs’ rights, estate debts and disputes between heirs. See family and inheritance law in Estonia.

We also assist with company liquidation, bankruptcy and administrative proceedings.

How we work

  • Scope and price first. Before work starts, we agree what will be done, what result you are aiming for and what it will cost.
  • Clear stages. Work is done in stages, and you know what each stage costs before it begins.
  • Order only what you need. You can order a single document, such as a demand letter, or one procedural stage, without full representation.
  • Honest assessment. If a claim is hopeless or a settlement is the better option, we say so. The goal is a reasonable result, not a long court case.
  • Response time. We usually reply within one working day.
  • No intermediaries. We take instructions directly from the client, not through intermediaries or arrangements where the person ordering, the client and the payer are different parties.

Experience

From 2020 to 2025, Ero Liivik worked on more than 250 disputes, including:

  • more than 150 court cases – debt claims, contract disputes, payment orders and bankruptcy proceedings;
  • more than 100 out-of-court disputes – demand letters, settlements and negotiations;
  • more than 25 employment and tenancy disputes.

He has drafted more than 100 statements of claim and other applications to the courts.
